There are trial versions here (Corel) and here (Clip Studio). Tl dr: Try them both out before you make a purchase. Because it's not only Corel Painter, but a whole bunch of other programs too, that are definitely worth the price. But Clip Studio goes on sale about four times a year for 25 USD.Īs a final note, I just wanna say that even though I've had Clip Studio for a few years, I did buy the bundle. Which isn't easy, I know, with the humble bundle deadline of (as of writing) six-ish days. My only suggestion is really just to get the trial versions of both and see which one you like best. Primarily because I don't know what it is you do or want to do. What I can say about it is that I love the way it handles paint. I haven't used the animation feature as much, but I know they're best in the EX version as opposed to the PRO version, which I have.Ĭorel Painter on the other hand, I haven't used as much. It's a great program for both painting and, as it is originally intended, comics. The brushes and customizing of these is easy to learn and fun to experiment with. I've been using Clip Studio Paint for a few years now and love the ability to paint with transparency. Need a buddy to keep you on track with your art goals?
